Saw you on House Hunters and I immediately liked you-tall with long hair! I am 5’11 with long, brunette hair! Anyway, found your website and have enjoyed reading your posts and seeing your photos. I will be traveling to Italy in early October with my 75 year old mother in law. She is a recent widow and it has been her dream to see Italy, so off we go! I have been searching different sites for restaurant recommendations, but thought you might have great suggestions. Our hotel is Near the Colosseum. I keep hearing good reviews regarding Enoteca Corsi near the Parthenon; they only serve lunch. If anything comes to mind, I’d love to hear your suggestions. We don’t want touristy places and we don’t care for fish. We will be in Rome for 2.5 days. I hope your business has proven successful!
Thank you in advance,

Hi Sharon, That is so kind of you!! Ok 2.5 days is perfect because I have two favorite restaurants of all time that I always recommend and everyone is ALWAYS happy.
Alla Rampa by the Spanish Steps. There WILL be tourists there but it is also full of Italians. Its location is perfect, the menu is huge and delicious, and the decor inside is darling. I’ve been going there for 15 years and the waitstaff is always the same. PLEASE try the fried zucchini flowers as an appetizer, stuffed with mozzarella. PLEASE!!!
Dar Poeta pizzeria in Trastevere. There will be a wait. It’s worth it. Get the mixed bruschetta appetizer (there’s so much more to bruschetta than tomatoes!) and the Buffala pizza for your main course. And house wine1
Both of these places are easily googleable to find the exact address.
Please let me know if you go and if you like them!
Thanks for reading and writing – makes my day!

Hi there! Thanks for the reply! I actually forgot I wrote to you and only checked this site yesterday. I was horrified to see I had written Parthenon (no, Im not going to Greece) instead of Pantheon! Oh well! Those restaurants sound amazing and we will definitely eat there as we have ample time in Rome. We leave in 3 weeks and Mom is getting so excited. Her husband hated to travel, so she is spreading her wings and flying to Italy.
Enjoyed your blog about CAPri! Haha! You know us Americans, we say things any old way thinking we are always correct! I dont know what I would have done if a stranger spanked me, holy cow!
Have a great day and I look forward to reading more of your adventures!
